9 DAYS RONGAI MOUNT KILIMANJARO CLIMB.

Using the Rongai route, you will have the opportunity to view the mountain’s peaks, flora, and fauna. This path will allow you to see the wonders, peaks of the mountains from the north, and is situated near the borders of Tanzania and Kenya.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport-Hotel
Day 2: Transfer to Rongai.
Day 3: Rongai second cave campsite
Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn Hut
Day 5: Walk at Mawenzi Tarn Hut
Day 6: Mawenzi – Kibo Hut.
Day 7: Kibo hut – Horombo Hut.
Day 8: Horombo hut – Marangu park gate & transfer to Moshi.
Day 9: Departure.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport- Hotel.
Prepare to meet our knowledgeable driver guide when you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. He or she will greet you and transport you in a 4WD safari vehicle to your hotel in Moshi Town. You will relax, have dinner, and turn in for the night from this hotel as you get ready for the next day.
Day 2: Transfer to Rongai gate.
After breakfast, transfer to Rongai for registration and a briefing before beginning your climb. Starting at Nale Moru, you will go through maize and potato crop fields before entering a pine forest. Expect to observe Colombus monkeys and Kenyan plains among primates. After a 3–4 hours hike, you will reach the first campsite, where you may enjoy the day until dinner and bedtime.
Day 3: Rongai second cave campsite.
For breathtaking views of Kibo and the Eastern ice fields on the crater rim, continue your trek to the second cave at 3444 meters after breakfast. Start hiking along the main track as you negotiate the slender road through the dense moorland until you reach Mawenzi peaks. You will need to travel for around 6-7 hours, and the campsite is close to the Kikelelwa caverns, where you will dine and sleep.
Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn Hut
Enjoy a memorable morning as you get ready for afternoon views that will leave your jaws dropping. When you reach Mawenzi Tarn Hut, you will be mesmerized by the mountain’s angular peaks. After that, you will head to the campsite for dinner and a night.
Day 5: Walk at Mawenzi Tarn Hut.
Once you are done with breakfast, climb up to the cave for stunning views of the Eastern ice fields on the crater rim. When you get to Mawenzi peaks, you will start hiking along the main trail while negotiating the curvy path through the stunning moorland. Dinner, refreshments, and overnight stay at Mawenzi Tarn Hut.
Day 6: Mawenzi – Kibo Hut.
In the morning, ascend for about 5 -6 hours from Mawenzi to Kibo that is set at the bottom of the crater wall. The rest of the day will be spent in preparation for the final ascent. Dinner and overnight at Kibo campsite.
Day 7: Kibo hut – Horombo Hut.
Have breakfast first thing in the morning, then continue climbing to Uhuru’s summit in time for sunrise. It will take you between 11 and 15 hours to complete this walk, which passes along the crater rim at Gill Man’s Point and offers beautiful vistas. It just takes three hours to get to the mountain’s summit at Uhuru after a short break at this point. You will descend back to Kibo where you will collect your possessions and then carry on to Horombo. Dinner and a good night sleep at the campsite.
Day 8: Horombo hut – Marangu park gate & transfer to Moshi.
Wake up early enough for breakfast and commence the descend to Mandara hut via moorland. You will have lunch from here and then proceed to the parks gate at Marangu where you will meet your driver to be transferred to Moshi town. Dinner and overnight at the reserved accommodation facility.
Day 9: Departure.
Enjoy an early breakfast and then transfer to the airport for departure flight back home or another destination. This marks the end of our safari.
